Iphone 5 Sales are Strong

iPhone steams on. After initial reviews that often said "boring," the iPhone 5 has plowed ahead with sales, setting records in the first weekend and continuing strong. While the Apple maps had a lot of "bumps in the road" if we may, the general reviews of the hardware have been positive. The early reviews of "boring" have progressed to "reliable, faster, and better." They didn't have a new design or something that set the mobile market on it's ear. They made a great phone. Apparently that is enough. iPhone users are happy. The maps fiasco is a software issue and an obvious misstep by the company. The hardware in the iPhone 5 has performed great. People aren't happy to have to buy new chargers and other accessories, but they will get over it. Chalk it up to progress. Progress is expensive. Just ask politicians. November 2, the iPhone 5 will release in India and other international destinations. Sales are predicted to be very strong as they move to the most populated country on earth. Apple also announced the release of the new iPad mini. There is more info about this on an engaging blog: Buy an iPad mini. Like the iPhone 5, iPad "mini" sports the new "lightning" plug. So, the good news is.. people buying both the iPhone 5 and the iPad mini don't have to buy two power adapters. Progress.

Iphone 5 release in 2012 Not Confirmed or Denied

iPhone 5, the next generation is apparently not on the horizon. As we sit on the brink of 2012 waiting for 2011 to slowly die off, it gives us a chance to look back on a somewhat exciting year of watching for the iPhone 5. Just for a quick rewind, back in early Spring, the release of the iPad 2 was completed well and it looked like the technology for breakthrough speed and capability that would allow the iPhone 5 to be released during the summer session was in place.

As time went on, however, all of us began to question whether or not things were going according to plan 5 . It wasn't even obvious, though, despite some ominous signs, including a late summer release of a "white" iPhone 4 (hello?). It wasn't obvious UNTIL, yes, the big day, the release of the new... (drumroll please) Iphone 4 S came out instead of the long awaited iPhone 5. Does the "S" stand for "speed" or for "Steve?" Don't know. This release was amazingly close to the death of Steve Jobs, the life of Apple for so many years. This only adds to the intrigue about an amazing man and an amazing company that grips the imagination of millions of people in our time.

Is Apple a company full of geniuses who knew that the release of iPhone 5 prematurely could be the undoing of the company? Apparently that is the best conclusion we can come to when thinking about this whole situation. What are the clues here? Well, the release of iOS 5 came only shortly before the release of the new phone. Maybe it was simplistic to think that iOS 5 would mean the imminent release of iPhone 5 to the public, but it would seem simpler to have the same iOS as model of iPhone out... Now, will the iPhone 5 have iOS 6 on it? Or even iOS 7 if they take too long with the hardware again? Interestingly, the main rumors circulating at present about Mac's new products center on the possible late winter 2012 release of the iPad 3.

So is the iPhone 5S much faster than regular old 4? Yes. Does the introduction of SIri on the new iOS make it a revolutionary thing bringing us to a new level of voice activation. The answer is once again "Yes." However with the qualifying info that SIri is a pretty basic program that does pretty basic things (much like the original iPhone was a pretty basic phone that did pretty basic things) but has AMAZING potential to do incredible things using voice controls. The power of these apps, however, will be released by the freedom of third party companies to develop incredible apps. SIri opens a door for apps to build on its' platform so that we can do amazing things by voice. One example of this is an app called "Vocal" which allows a person to control their Mac computer via their iPhone 4S.

This brings to mind scenes from the 80's movie "Electric Dreams" where the computer, Miles, can turn on the lights, coffee maker, dishwasher, etc. He can also fall in love... I don't know that the iPhone 4S will be falling in love any time soon, but it may help husbands manage to stay in love, if they can make their Mac have a picture of flowers waiting for their wife if they've forgotten her anniversary. Of course, the husband better also ask SIri where there's a nice restaurant where he can get reservations to complete the "surprise" evening (How could I forget our ANNIVERSARY? Ha ha.).

So as we all are having fun with the new possibilities of the latest iOS, Apple seems content to keep pushing what they've got going. This is a little suspicious and makes me wonder...

Will we see the iPhone 5 in 2012?

3-2-1 Countdown to iPhone 5 release

iPhone 5 is almost here! Where is the iPad mini in the process?

There is really no more argument. It is accepted far and wide that the iPhone 5 release will happen on September 12, 2012. The announcement has been all but confirmed by Apple and it doesn't really seem to be a secret to anyone.

Why?

Perhaps right now the focus on secrecy in Apple is on the new 8 inch iPad mini. All the iPhone 5 news and speculation only distracts the public from the sneak announcement of the iPad mini. Could that even happen on September 12 as well? That would certainly get the public talking even more. The new iPhone release will generate plenty of buzz on its' own and the iPhans are waiting for the day. This seems to suit Apple Inc. a little too well. Is all this just conspiracy theory? Time will tell (or if the CEO makes the announcements, Tim will tell--sorry, had to be done!).

The pictures are released. The news is "announced" that the release is happening. People have ordered the new iPhones and really are just waiting to receive them. The buyers of second-hand-iPhones are waiting to purchase until the inevitable price-drops of a post-announcement season. Apple won the case in court for now. What is really left to be done?

Release, already. Release! So here is our suggestion: Go ahead and release it on September 1 and surprise the whole world. Be spontaneous. Go for it. You can do no wrong, anyway, right? Go for it!

In the meantime, the iPhone release will be the topic of continued conversations, reports and "news." Although, unless Apple choses to take our suggestion, most of these reports and conversations will just be "fluff." You can discuss the new ideas that will be presented in the new hardware, you can talk about the lawsuits in court, but until the release of the new iPhone, there is one objection: "Heresay!"

iPhone 5

The buzz is growing! Even some pictures have been released on Photobucket which are supposedly pics of the real deal iPhone 5! Will Apple confirm it? Of course not. Does the fact that people are curious about iPhone 5 make it a certainty that it's coming out this year? Not in and of itself, no. But it HAS been a while and the rumors that are swirling seem to be fairly normal. Here at buyIphone5, we are pretty sure that a Fall 2012 release of the iPhone 5 is in the works.

The pictures don't have to be accurate for some of the details leaking out to be true. For example, most people, including insiders close to the production lines, agree that the iPhone 5 will have a bigger screen, close to 4 inches. It could even be a shade bigger than 4 inches. The goal is not just a bigger screen but a better ratio (16 x 9) for watching media.

iPhone 5 will also surprise us with faster data capabilities and a much faster processor. This will take some jamming for the engineers to get more battery power in to run it all as long as possible, but the 4 inch screen size will only help that endeavor.

All in all, the waiting game will just continue until more hectic activity is seen among the Apple employees. We will see no vacation orders and things like that and we'll all know it's just a matter of time. In the meantime, enjoy the summer, get some sun and don't worry too much about it.

Apple's been busy in court, particularly suing Samsung to keep them from releasing the latest Galaxy phones in the U.S. It will be interesting to hear the outcome. Will Apple have to put an advertisement on it's website for Samsung? These questions will probably be answered before we have new hardware in our hands.
